What makes life worth living?

Established in 1999 as one of positive psychology’s original research sites when the field was launched, the Quality of Life Research Center (QLRC) at Claremont Graduate University studies positive psychology—including such human strengths as creativity, engagement, intrinsic motivation, and responsibility—to understand those aspects of human experience that make life worth living. Mihaly (Mike) Csikszentmihalyi, one of the co-founders of the field of positive psychology, was the QLRC’s first director. Its current director, Jeanne Nakamura, helped found the Center.
